Default Hi Private glider pilot doing a power addon--

Hi!

I am a private pilot with a glider rating only adding a single engine land rating to my certificate. I am 24 and going to medical school..

I joined this forum in the hopes of getting some questions answered about by class 3 medical .
(thanks to the resources of this forum, there is an AME volunteering with a a lot more experience than the AME that I went to).

But also I joined this forum to get more information about medicals themselves as I would possible like to become an AME after I am done with medical school and my residency

Congrats on medical school and welcome! As far as research into the medical certificate stuff goes, the most I know about it is that is based on part 67 of 49 CFR and that you'll make about 100-125 per exam. Mostly, I think the 3rd class is the least invasive and takes the least amount of time while first class medicals take an additional AME certificate or training. I am sure there is more information on the FAA's website. Do you have a specialty in mind or are looking to become a GP?

My other friends that have gone thru medical school told me that I should keep my mind open.. I might have a mind set of trying to specialize in something. But when rotations come around, that mind set , might change rather quickly..

If that doesn't occur to me , I am looking more into Orthopedic surgery or
Ophthalmology...
