Default Its that time....

That time in every young, or old, aviators life where he is expected to know his stuff and fly his plane. The very first checkride. Im going for my PPL checkride in less then an hour.. How the hell do they expect us to concentrate with all this damn nervousness!!! Holy poop....Deep breaths..calm ..Ok..well I'll let you all know how it went in a few hours (Longer if I get it and the weather stays agreeable) Oy vey. See you all later! Wish me luck. And if you see a While and Red Cessna 152 over San Jose, CA I suggest you keep a safe distance.

Well since soooooo many people are deeply intrested, I passed to oral no prob...easy stuff...mabey took 20 min? But I knew every answer so I felt really good. However the flight portion was postponed till tues due to weather. Oh well no biggie. Im not nearly as nervous about that part. Will let you know how it goes!

Keep us posted..... You'll do great! Remember to just fly the plane. You've already been doing it - just repeat all the training you have mastered!

Thumbs up Re: Its that time....

Congrats!!!

As time goes on, the checkrides get easier, even to the point of annoyance. No matter what, though, there's always a tinge.

Best of luck on Tuesday.

The one question that threw me right off the bat was. "What privileges will you gain after you get your PPL" I got it but I had not really ever seen a clear answer to that one in my reading. I think there was one Airspace vis requirment. A tiny bit of WX stuff. In the form of "can we go flying?" To which the answer was Barely so lets wait. Just rember that all examiners are different and my oral was abnormally short. The better you do the shorter it takes. If you miss something they ask more question to find out what areas you need to work on. I think my was about 20min. There were a few flashcards with signs on them I had to know. Fuel reserve requirements. Lighting requirements day and night. (Anticollosion on during the day) Recency requirements. It was ALOT easier then I was expecting. Just study and you will do fine.

Ah the practical (Couldent sleep)...She told me to fly the flight I had planned from Reid-hillview (KRHV) to Fresno (KFAT). Took off and within 10 min she told me to divert (Had not even gotten to the first checkpoint) I diverted to South County (E16) and did a short field landing(Take off from RHV was short field) Did soft Field take off. On approach for soft field landing she has me go around. Climed to do maneuvers. Slow flight. power off stall. Hood work. Flew back to RHV where she had me do Soft field landing. And thats it! Just rember. They tell you the moment you fail. So if your flying back and their all quiet. Its not a bad thing. Total time was 1.2
