| Senior Member | The first part. The good news that is, is that I took my Instrument Written Test today, and got an 87. The second part. The bad news that is, well I guess this is good news too! Is, my Fiance wanted to come with me, so she sat in the main lobby of the flight school I have been flying out of. Prior to the test, I told my CFII that I needed my endorsement for the test. I told him at least 3 different times. Anyways, I called this morning, and he still didn't get me the endorsement. I took the test anyways, and I guess while I was behind closed doors, he was talking crap about me. How, he'll sign it if I pass, etc...in a real demeaning attitdue. Bad enough for the woman at the counter to say..."That's his Fiance over there. Be careful what you say Rick." So, there goes my business with him and the school. I honestly haven't learned too much from him. I've had to correct him more than once on occasions, and I also had to inform him of the Regs regarding the 250NM X-country for the IR. Anyways, as the title states. Two for one. For one purpose today, I got two results...an 87 on my written , and a goodbye you can kiss my A$$ to the flight school.

| Senior Member | Listen, I'm not going to baby my CFII to write me an endorsement when he knew exactly when I was taking my written. Especially when I told him person to person at least three times. And today, I specifically called to get my endorsement, and guess what...no endorsement. The testing is done at my flight school, and so be it that he would be coming by while I was taking the test to write the endorsement. I did all that I could to make things right. Not having a great time right now. Granted this whole endorsement thing should have been taken care of before the test, but I'll be damned if I'm going pay any fees of cancellation because my awesome CFII couldn't adhere to his responsibilities.

| I think you're missing the point with the question. Your test in invalid because you weren't endorsed for the exam. You're going to have to find someone to post date the endorsement to validate the test scores. The school has f'd up by letting you take the test without a proper endorsement and could lose their testing ability if this ever came to light. All in all not a great start. Get rid of the instructor and get a sign off! |

| Senior Member | Sorry that was a slam at the school not you ![]() It's not the end of the world. If I were you I would have the CFII give you an endorsement for the passed test with the "correct" date on it and then never go back to the school for the reasons you stated.

| Nope, it shouldn't. It was wrong of the testing facility to let you take the test without first recieving the endorsement though.

I've seen firsthand DPE's continuing with an oral for a checkride while not having the proper endorsements, knowing that the instructor would be in to sign them off. Brush it off...move on to an instructor you enjoy flying with and can learn from. | |
