| Newbie | Hey everyone, I finally took the plunge after many many months of lurking and signed up. I have 0 logged hours, a couple introductory flights under my belt which just added to the bug. I am planning to pursue my ratings starting at the latest in July of 08. I am leaning more toward getting them at a local FBO instead of going to one of the cookie cutter academies. If anyone has any input of FBO's in MA, RI, or CT that they've had experience with I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm planning on making this a career change and financing it. (the infamous "F word") Thanks for your support and feedback! Thank god for MS Flt Sim, at least I can be proficient in that in the meantime! |

| Old Skool | Good, welcome! If you plan on doing this for a living, start as soon as possible so that you're costs don't skyrocket over the next year / two years. Also,if you do plan on doing this for a living. . .please, for the life of the profession - stay away from any sort of regional jet transition course. |
