Unhappy The Last

I think I just had my last flight in a Skyway Beech. I only have one day remaining on my work schedule, Friday. I don't think I'll be going to work that day, though...

I hate last flights. I remember my last flight before my first furlough so well, it was hell. Mercifully I was on RSV my last month with AA, so I think I remember my last flight, but I had several RSV days that I didn't fly and I PVDd out of several days too. So I didn't have the experience of the "last flight" the second time.

I remember my last day in the Beech @ SYX... thought I had one more two day before I was handed my "suspension" from G-Five. SO I didn't think that my last flight would be my last flight. Walking down that tiny hallway in the bowels of MKE away from there for the last time I was really bummed. It's a great pilot group and a great airplane and was such a fun place to work.

It may seem strange now, but you'll find yourself actually missing the Model Towne.

Thanks. There'll be a bunch of SYX cronies in that class. Maybe I should introduce them to JC.

That's not a bad idea. Maybe they could share some stories and perspectives with us.

By the way, good luck with the new airline!

I though I had just done my last on Thursday. I was at peace with it. I hated leaving the Beech (of course), and I kinda wanted to stay until the end.

While taxiing in, Ops called "Have the FO call Crew Scheduling..." I got extended on my last day (well past the contract limits as it turned out) because they discovered 20 min prior to departure they didn't have an FO to cover a planned (ie not last minute) downgrade flight.

That little adventure successfully screwed up my plans for turning in all my company junk and getting home. Yea, that twinge of remorse as well as any sensation of being "at peace" with leaving was gone.

That stinks. I'm glad you have something going for you at Chautauqua though.
