Got the CFII finished on Saturday 2/16/08. Check. Next up ATP Written and possible MEI. Any thoughts on the MEI?

First off... Congratulations!

Second, so, you just finished your CFII (as your initial?) and you have 810 hours? Just wondering how that worked out that you have such high time before you got a CFI/I certificate, banner tow or aerial photo or something?... Just wondering...

But, if you did the CFII as an add-on, how was it? I'll be doing it soon... I hope.

Gotta throw my congrats to ya!! I think the CFII checkride was my best checkride out of all the checkrides. Good luck with the ATP written, I am actually studying for that written right now, so best of luck to you with that!

It was an add-on... really just an instrument ride from the right seat since I had my CFI already. Did all the required PTS items for an add-on which consisted of plenty of partial panel, taught an ILS, taught a partial panel GPS approach. The oral was based on a planned IFR cross-country and was pretty straight forward.

Congrats on the CFII!

The MEI would be good but would you be realistically doing any MEI work or just using it to pad the resume? It seems like you've got the times to move your career foward if you so please.

Good Luck!

More of a "resume pad" I guess... checklist of life you might say. That, and to get some very recent multi-time. The MEI only takes a handful of hours to complete so that's one way to do it. I'll probably do it.
