Default Done (for now)

Well I survived the lovely 4 week stay in dayton. I have five weeks off until sim in st. louis. Even met a fellow JCer while I was there.

Congrats man! Wow! 5 weeks? They gave us 2 weeks. FlightSafety is TOP NOTCH! We are in sim session 3, so far so good. Keep up on call-outs and profiles and if you can start studying the maneuver profiles (clean stall, maneuvering stall, landing stall and steep turns) it would help you out. PSA indoc prepares you very well for the sim, so it is actually fun (unlike IPTs IMHO). If you have any questions, give me a holler. See you on the line.

Hey man congrats! I still think You'd have been fine going out with us the other night but its all good... Anyways really SIM shouldnt be that bad... as long as you have a good stick and rudder and know your stuff you should be fine. IMO FSA is awesome.... You cant get better... I know this makes some of our own instructors mad but I loved the guys down there!

I am going to call HQ on monday and beg for an earlier sim schedule. I don't feel like sitting here for five weeks waiting. But I know they are running a tight schedule with all the upgrades right now. At least living in CLT I can go over to the sim center and maybe watch a few sessions and sit at the paper tiger and run flows and all that good stuff while I wait.

Yeah it wont do you any good..... We have a guy who got sick... He has now been told April will be the soonest they can get him back to sim. That would be he started Dec 3rd and while in Montreal got sick. Now he has to wait. Honestly I dont even know if I would call and bug them.... Sit back and enjoy the time off. You will be fine once you go to sim.... There is nothing really you need to be concerned about. Just keep in your off time going over things suck as flows but really a delay isnt a huge deal..... However we are super tight as you already know as we all do. I HIGHLY doubt you will go any sooner then what they already said. We are super short on CA's and need to get them through more so then we do FOs.....

I'm curious if they have ever let an FO that is doing sim sit with a CA upgrade. To me it makes sense that they would do that. Instead of having two new FO's in the sim you would have one guy with experience and you wouldn't have to switch seats and all that good stuff. Not to mention since I live in CLT, if they would even consider something like that, they would not have to pay for a hotel room for me. Of course that's just me and some wishful thinking. Of course having five weeks off I have a lot that could keep me busy. I need to take my ATP written, renew my CFI, and start getting ready to move into a new place.

I'll let Jeremy respond to that.... But i'm pretty sure they'd be cool with you observing in the sim but we dont do the CA and FO thing..... CA's do less sims anyways..... Sounds like you have a lot to do in your off time anyways.... You might as well try to do some jumpseating as well.... Use those travel bennies and ENJOY!

Paul, you finished with IOE yet? We are half way through sim, as of today. Had a few hick-ups today, but managed to make it through the lesson and have enough time to practice a few more approaches. We are doing lesson 5 tomorrow......The dreaded DEN to CYS lesson!! Should be fun!
