I got the call this afternoon for the 17 March dispatcher school for RAH. Interviewed today and got called today. The school is the six week Flight Safety course, followed by quite a bit of OJT. Everyone I encountered today was very friendly, and the experience was great. I honestly can't wait to get started. I'm gonna  this school too. The pay is decent considering the school is free and we're paid while there. The training sounds excellent, and the benefits seem great to me as well. I won't know what certificate I'm on until I get the certification. It doesn't really matter though because all the RAH dispatchers are one seniority list. Not sure if it's like that with the pilots.I've got to commit for 2 years, but I can't see passing this up considering all the above. I'll have to go to part time student, but that's fine. I WILL finish one of these years...  Flight training will recommence once I finish dispatch school. I got set up today with a local airport that is VA approved. I should be able to fly frequently with a 4 on 3 off schedule. And..... I'll work 10 minutes from my house.(5.3 liter V8  )I first caught the add here at JC too. So thanks guys! |

Greenwood HFY has the VA program. There are other schools closer to me, but oh well... They seem to have their stuff together down there in Greenwood. | |

Thanks everyone! I'll keep you all in the know. I'm studying hard right now just to prepare before hand. Everyone on here always says how beneficial it is to get writtens done before hand. I want to knock out the ATP written along with the ADX written. I'm pretty stoked about it all! Maybe I can bust my butt for RAH and then sliiiiiide over to the right seat. |
