| Got the job at ASA! May 19 class date (gotta wait until graduation)...anyone else gonna be there?times were 580TT, 115ME, CFI/CFI-I/MEI, NO RJ COURSE Having gone through the interview, it seems to me like the RJ courses are a total waste of money. To prep for the sim portion, I flew the CRJ700 in FSX for a couple hours just to get the hang of the instrument scan - which i do feel really helped when flying the sim. Thanks for everyones help (i have been reading these forums constantly for months now and have learned a ton!).

| They knew ahead of time (had it on resume, and listed it on the application), and were very accomodating. ![]() ASA will push really hard for you to do an RJ / Jet Trx course, but really you don't need it. Just make sure you have a very strong instrument scan and can run your normal IFR "flows / Ts" in your sleep and you will be fine. That being said if you can get into a full motion level c/d sim (dc-9, kc-135, etc.) for maybe an hour or so at no cost (i was lucky enough to have some connections to do that), that will help you out alot more than having 20hrs in a RJ FTD. The feel of the controls in a jet is alot different than the feel of the controls in a light twin, so just be ready for that.

| Congratulations on getting hired prior to even completing your degree. Your completely ahead of the game. Just keep focused and you'll be on top of it by training. Good luck! |
