Default Another Victim?!?!?! of the SJS.... Pt. 121 Initial PC Today

Well, today I get to add another SIC rating to my license. I just passed the initial PC for the CL-65 better known as the "Surge," the CRJ, or just "that darn SJS plane."

So, until I upgrade or move to a different aircraft I'll have a:

BE-1900 SIC Privledges only
CL-65 SIC Privledges only

on my license that I will carry with me as long as the FAA keeps my records.

It was a great checkride... very few notes at the end. One - Why did you call HDG mode before you called NAV mode, you could have gone straight to NAV mode. Two - You should write up a "No Starter Cutout" at the end of a trip because the CFM calls to resume normal operations if the light goes out. (I wanted to advise MX - I was thinking CYA?) Three - Don't let yourself get behind on anything. (I should have asked for a couple of delay vectors, didn't really do anything incorrect, just let them rush me a bit) Everything else was... this was good, that was good, you did a good job.

I was on my "A" game and it turned out to be a great day.... now a LOFT, differences class, and then on to IOE. Yippee.

So, for the rest of the evening, tomorrow, and through the next day when I get home (to celebrate with the wife) I am not going to think about QOL issues, low pay, a weak union, or any of that stuff. I'm going to reflect on the last few months and all of the hard work it took to polish off the books, study my rear end off, and learn a whole heck of alot. I'm going to enjoy the accomplishment of making it though the 121 training and what it took to get here and why I love the work so much.

You guys get SIC types for the 1900? Is that because you flew them international?

Thanks Tracy... of course I do. I also remember all of the help with the interview prep without which I would have not gotten this far as I would have stalled during all of my interviews.

I used to work for (the sadly soon to be defunct) Skyway, I'm at Mesa now.

Yep, we did. We had the opportunity to fly the 1900 to Canada. I never did fly there in the 1900 - which is good for the passengers... that was a long ride from Milwaukee in a plane with no bathroom.
