| I can't even begin to describe how much I appreciate all of your concerns. I really do appreciate it. Thank you all. As for the accident. I was on the side of the road with a disabled motorist. They were a very nice young family and we were all just talking until the tow truck arrived. I had my patrol car pulled in on a slight angle behind their car. I didn't realize until later on but about 2 minutes before the accident took place I explained to their son why you should never stand between 2 vehicles with traffic going by. Thank goodness the family walked further into the grass away from the cars right before the accident took place. I was walking back to my car to do some quick paperwork when the accident took place. I was in the process of doing exactly what I told the kid not to do and that's walk between the 2 cars to get to mine. I was pretty much at my passenger side headlight walking around the front of the car when I heard a quick screech of a tire and looked up. That's when I realized what's to come. A car lost control and took a quick angle towards mine. The woman was heading directly for my door, and right before she would have hit it, she managed to get the vehicle on a less of a head on angle. Basically instead of hitting my door at a 90 degree angle she hit it on a 45. The impact pushed my car basically right at me. Being where I was at, I had no where to go so I sort of leaned into my car as it was coming at me and was thrown over the hood of my car, into the windshield a little, than into the grass. I was in a good daze there for a few. The first thing that came to mind was my other accident. The same motorists that I was helping were all untouched and immediately came over. I took some glass to the face during the whole process so you know that meant a lot of blood. Other motorists saw it happen too so they all stopped. Someone called it in and it seemed like seconds before I started to hear sirens in the distance. Anytime I am on the side of the road I always think it is so cool how big ant piles can get and how mean they look. I hate ants so I asked one of the people to please make sure that I am not laying in one. Soon enough everyone started to arrive. I'm sure Troopernflight can agree with me on this one, but anytime a fellow officer goes down it's amazing to see everyone that comes to help. It really is a good feeling. I was transported to one of our million local hospitals where they wanted to keep me over night. I was not about to do that because I hate hospitals so I eventually went home a couple of hours later. I'm going to be off work for probably the next week or so just relaxing. Once again I really do appreciate each and every single one of your kind words.

I'm really glad you came out of this OK I always considered the freeway as the most dangerous part of my job when I was a firefighter. I would rather be in a burning building than out on the side of a freeway. Some of my most frightening memories from that time was on the highway. You guys are out there all the time. Much respect and thanks for that. ![]() It's amazing what kind of thoughts go through your mind as you're in the middle of being injured, or in the emergency phase of an event. No ants got in your pants I trust ![]() Get better soon, and remember that when you don't follow your own advice, or listen to that quiet calm voice telling you something, you better look for the hammer. ![]()

| Old Skool | Glad you're ok, man. Makes you wonder what are the odds that someone could make metal hit metal in that spot and have it happen twice, to you.
