I won't know until the second day of class. More than likely I'll get the 9 which I think would be pretty cool...old skool

The other possibility is sideways in the 74-200 on the cargo side. ANC based but the trips would be pretty cool. Lots of Asia stuff. The good news is at NWA you can bid out of an aircraft or base almost immediately within certain limits. Word is A-320 and 757 will be available to new hires before too long. Time will tell.

When are they done with the 9? How would that affect you? I just know "living" with the "red tails", everything was working against the pilot group. Like I said, I have friends there, and wish you the best of luck!!!

There was a memo a few months ago stating that they are reducing the number of the older 9-s but keeping some of the "newer" ones. It also stated that even with that projection fleet utilization is increasing and the 787 is on order requiring them to continue hiring. Probably lots of retirements too even with age 65 because of the pensions/tax structure.

I certainly realise the risk however I believe there is risk wherever you are in aviation. There's risk in staying at XJT. The timing is right for me and my wife, it enables us to move, the flying is what I'm looking for, the seniroirty movement is good, the Compass flow back is in place, etc. The pros far outweigh the cons, for me anyway. To each their own.

It never hurts to apply. People have differing opinions of NWA from one end of the spectrum to the other. But I can say that my experience was nothing but impressive...extremely proffesional, friendly, inviting, honest, etc.
