Default CAE Crew Member!!

Well, I finally got the e-mail for the Supporting Crew Member (Right-Seat) program at CAE SimuFlite in Dallas, TX for the February class date. I am being put into the Learjet program but don't yet know which model; either the 25, 35, or 55. I will be down in DFW from Feb. 24-27 so those of you in the area plan a get-together!

Can't wait to start the program! If anyone has any recommendations for flight schools to CFI in the Dallas area than please let me know!!

Congrats again!

Pretty much any flight school down here is willing to hire on new flight instructors. I was told not to bother with ATP because they have a pretty regid training schedule. I was initially intersted in Moncarch, but got a calll saying they are hurting for CFI's, so much so they really only want full-time. I'm getting started at LoneStar Flyers (KADS) and perhaps AviatorAir in the future (KGPM). They are both nice smaller flight schools and offer more flexibility than the larger schools. A lot depends on how much of a priority you want to make CAE vs. instructing. Right now, I'm taking everything CAE gives me (while I still have $$ to support myself). That can be as much as seven days a week or as little as three. Let me know if you have any questions.

DOOD! Awesome! I'm coming down there for recurrent in the 55 in the next couple of months. Last time I was there, I had a staff right-seater (actually left seater since I was only there for SIC), so maybe I can pair up with you this time.

Hey, brand new member here! Looking foward to all this forum has to offer.
I have a question as I am a canuck waiting for a US visa to come instruct down south. What's the situation re instructor need in general in USA? I've heard it's desperate. So far, I have verbal offer for the school pay for a few mths accom, my instructor rating and renew my ME-IFR. All that is unheard of north of the border, sounds a bit too good to be true...

You'll have no problem finding a job! If you shop around a little bit you'll even find some flight schools offering signing bonuses, cheap housing, and will pay for additional ratings. However, do you're research and make sure you are getting involved with a decent program. This forum will be a great place to do your research!
