Holy shnikes! Been at this ASA application packet since Monday. After 3 nights going to bed at 3am and a wicked amount of headaches it's finally gone! Overnighted it FedEx and should get there tomorrow by 1030am. The worst part is totaling up the paper logbook and finding the differences between that and the online logbook! It has to be worse than balancing a check book! For the newer guys..... Keep up with your written logs at ALL times. When you fall behind and get lazy and only put it online, it will KILL you to catch up.

| I use Freepilotlog.com. But what happens is at the place I instruct (as Tracy knows) it's not a good place to leave you logbooks and stuff lying around so when I get done with the day I hop on the PC and pop in the info for the day. Well.... I get lazy with the paper logs, and when I print them out on Freepilotlog, it doesn't look as nice so I didn't want to just send that away with the other documents they asked for..... How do you like it there 777? I hope they call back soon!

Can I ask what all this online pc based time logging is all about, and why you'd want to do that instead of entering your times directly into your hardcopy log books? I'm new, and just starting my training, so only know about the ol' paper logbooks that you record after each flight! Cheers.

What I do (currently with only 200 hours), and plan to continue is to log all flights into the paper log the same day as the flight. But I will not tally the columns until after logging everything into on electronic log. Then I will tally the paper log and verify it matches the eLog. This helps with catching logging errors early, leading to less scribblings; which I learned the hard way.
