Sooooo I finally got done with training at Republic and man I'm I glad to done. I was in STL at Flight Safety for 4.5 weeks with indoc and systems (all done by FSI). When I first started I was thinking about the road ahead and what I gave up to come here, that I was thinking (briefly) about leaving and going back to CJC. It was hard to give up being #1 in my home, but after all was said and done I am very happy now. I had 17 days off between systems and sim and loved the time off. People wanted to jump right in but I was more than happy to get paid to relax and let everything absorb into my head that I just learned (not to mention it gave lots of time with the girlfriend). Got lucky with sims cause I had a partner who knew what he was doing (Pinnacle guy), an experience instructor (worked at Higher Power for some time) and somehow got the 3pm-7pm sim slot. We had 8 sim sessions plus a checkride and loft. Didn't have any problems and learned a lot. The 170 is a very user friendly airplane and while I didn't care about the plane when I got hired, I'm excited to get out there and fly it now. I start IOE saturday in DCA, though my base is PHL. I'll be sure to let you know how it goes and I'll take some pics for ya. |

Congrats, Sig! I had quite a bit of time between systems and sims, too . . . like two weeks. Then, like 3 weeks between my checkride and IOE. it RAWKED! Again, good job!

Congrats! I, unlike you, unfortunately only had 1 day off between systems and sim. After the LOFT, I had 3 days to get from STL up to Buffalo for IOE. I was glad though to get it all overwith. Congrats again, and welcome to the company!
