| Hey everyone, well I thought I would give an update. So I am on day 6 today with no end in sight so I called up management and had a talk. They were very understanding but said there is nothing they can do and we must continue the present course. They said they can't get any training slots at flight safety for the near future and that we will remain understaffed for the remainder of the year. Hopefully by February we may have another trained pilot on the line. Otherwise they sympathize but out of their hands. Well what can I say. That is managements position and they will not down the plane so we can have time off. I am thinking about coming to the DO and resigning but telling him I am more than willing to fly as a contract pilot, even going out 12 days when needed but on my terms. When I don't want to fly I just don't. At its current pace I will probably find myself in divorce court soon because I don't even see my wife. So what do you all think of my contract pilot idea? Maybe go to a regional but I don't think QOL will be much better there.

I would tell them that when Flight Safety does call back, to book two training slots instead of one because you are leaving to work for someone who realizes you have a life outside of flying. Seriously, do your current bosses think they will be better off with one less pilot (you) over offering a livable schedule? They are abusing you because you are allowing them to.
