|  Getting on the court
Hi everybody, Thank you everyone for your candid posts and straight answers. This site is a great wealth of information and support. I'm yet another 40 year old career changer. I've been lurking around this site for a few weeks since meeting "Stone Cold" at the local airport. He's a Lear 60 pilot and didn't hesitate to recommend coming here. Changing careers mid-life seems nutty, especially without much of a bankroll. But I am compelled and it's hard to explain. Being a pilot and seeing the world with the life I have left is too much to resist. Anyway I am working on my PPL, and my instructor says I'm ready to solo. The AME needed to get a statement from another physician about a med I was taking some years ago so that's been holding up my medical. Hurry up and wait... Again, thank you all for being so generous by coming back here and sharing your experiences and dreams. |

Welcome fellow career changer. Doesnt sound the least bit nutty to me...but I am a little jaded being that I am in the same position! Congrats on the solo. What a great day that was. Savor every minute of it. |

Welcome aboard FL390. It was great to meet you up there. Hopefully you can have most of your questions answered here. It's all good people here on this board. Some people get wound up every once in a while, but you can't beat the friends you'll make on here, and the information is invaluable!!! Tell Jeff I said to get to work!!! And say hi to Lou, Heather, Chris and the gang for me. |
