Default Introduction

Hello everyone.

I'm a middle-age, career-changer in Florida with my Private & Instrumant and much of my Commercial completed. I am considering jumping in with both feet and attending a fast-track training program to move quickly to a job with the regionals.

Of course it is hard to accept the cost of training with the really low pay for the first couple of years. And of course, it is not an easy decision to drag my wife through those first few hard years and that pile of debt. But then I guess many others have survived it.

I am also trying to learn exactly what the life of an airline pilot is like. It dosen't appear to resemble the typical work experience at all.

ATP is coming to my airport soon. They sound like an excellent way to go if you can afford to go into debt that much. Any experiences with them - good or bad?

Welcome to JC!

Borrow as little as you can. Try not to spend too much. An extra (10) thousand dollars doesn't always mean more quality or even speed. Try to enjoy the ride.

Panama City

ATP apparently bought out Sowell Aviation's Part 141 Certificate.

I understand they will be starting up their school in February.
