Default Hello from NYC!

Well after a few weeks lurking around and some searches, I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello and hope to make some connections. I'll probably end up posting another message in the 'changing careers' sub-forum, but just some quick tidbits about myself.
Born the UK, completed High School and College here in the US with a B.S. Computer Science. Rode the .com wave, ended up on the beach only to be picked up by the housing market wave trading mortgage whole loans for a Investment Bank. Always had a thirst for aviation ever since I was little, wasn't until about two years ago when I was around 26/27 till I actually had money to start paying for lessons. Now here I am at 29yrs old, PPL/100hr about to take my IFR written (also cramming for the Comm written), and transition myself out of a job that make me completely miserable/unhealthy (though well renumerated) aiming for what almost every other aspiring pilot wants, the left chair on a major.
I understand it's not an easy path and statistically many may never reach their end dreams. However, I do understand that if I continue the way I'm going, I'll be overweight/unhealthy/unhappy and always stairing outside my office window at the jets flying over Manhattan thinking what it could have been like. I'm sure many can relate.
Anyhow, enough with boring you guys - if there's any airline pilots in NYC that wouldn't mind meeting up for a coffee or something to discuss training paths, the profession, the politics etc, I'd pick up the tab! Drop me a PM.

Thanks all,
W.
