Default Ground school

Sucks, and thankfully is finished. Great people in class, and I had a good time, but I don't think I am all that well suited for classroom activities.

Thanks to all my classmates and upgrade guys that I met in Ma-nasty. Thanks for the help and the alcohol. It kept me sane.

Off to the sim on Thursday.

You'll find IOE to be a fresh change of pace from ground school and sim.

Just wait until you fly the paper tiger.

So when would this light come on?

How about this one?

What temp can this light come on? When does it go off?

What lights do you see when I flip this switch?

UGH!

It's funny how the farther up you get in your career you see that it actually working that direction.

Maybe it's cause everyone over 40 is starting to get Alzheimer's or something and only the 20 year olds can take it all in.

In my own career, I've gone from the 727, which was an old school, know a lot of numbers and checklists, airplane. To the 757/767, which cut way back on the memory stuff. To even most recently seeing them pare the hardest memory item checklist (emergency evac) down to one item (parking brake-set)

The memory items aren't too bad on the Saab. Most are pretty much just common sense.

The systems though are just an avalanche of information that I am still trying to get a grip on.

which of the many buses would you rather be on?

My fav is the Left main. I would live there.

Or the best mneumonic device: FAGHO, whats on the engine accesory gear box?

F - Fuel Pump, main engine driven
A - Alternator
G - Generator (DC/Starter)
H - HMU
O - Oil Pump

Bet you'll never forget that one.

That is awesome.

I am afraid I am gonna start spewing the wrong acronym for the wrong system. Or worse, remember the acronym but not the items the letters represent.

Max, I have glasses of shiraz all too often. The community here would tire of my wine snobbery in short order.
