Default Good and bad news...

Bad news first:
I got caught doing 86 in a 65 today. He dropped it down to a 80 in a 65 and didn't give me a ticket for my tint because I was in a hurry for my ppl checkride. First ticket ever. I might fight it, but if I fight it and lose then its going to be 21 over and thats loss of license I think.

Good news:
I passed my PPL checkride!!!! It hasn't sunk in yet, maybe because I'm so tired.
1-1.5hr oral and then the ride. The DE was awesome, he had lots of experience so I tried to soak in as much as I could.

other cool things today:
Saw F16's doing pattern work as I was downwind in class C.
Saw a Herc land, sure smokes a lot.
Gave a few pointers to a group of guys that were waiting for their first ever ppl ground school class

SLOW DOWN, my man!!

Where did you get that from? I got a ticket for doing 70 in a 35 when I was 19 years old. Didn't lose my license, but it was incredibly stupid.

Did I fight it? Nope. Why not? Because I was doing 70 in a 35 . . . nothing to fight.

My hope is to go to court, convince the judge to let me take some driving classes or community service to let it off.

Ahhh, well that's different from "fighting it". You made it sound like you were done some huge injustice!

There's nothing to fight, you got caught speeding man up and accept the consequences. Go to drivers school and get supervision-slow down.

Congrats on your PPL checkride.

Man, I wish 90% of the other people in this world had that attitude. I always see people trying to fight their way out of speeding tickets. If you're getting dicked around that's one thing, but if you are going 15-20 over, man up and just pay your ticket. If you are respectful to the judge and such you might be able to get out of the points.

Most people are just plain too lazy to contest their tickets. There is absolutely nothing illegal, immoral or unethical in entering a not guilty plea. In this country, the government has the burden of proof in a criminal case.

Hopefully the first plan is to not get anymore speeding tickets......if he wants a future in aviation.

On a positive note:

Congrats on passing the PPL!

Congrads on passing the checkride!!

I'm a bit confused... you said you didn't get a ticket, so what's there to contest?
