| I scared my CFI right out of the plane today ....I think he might of scared me when he got out actually...but as of today at 3:10, I logged my first PIC time, because I SOLOED!!!
After doing three take offs and landings, my CFI tells me "My plane" and goes on. Wow, am I doing that bad??? So he lands but doesn't touch and go just pulls off the runway and taxis back to the ramp. Your log book inside? Med Cert? Yep...OK, have FUN, you'll be fine. I did just that. I took a moment to relax and just did it! I kept talking to myself, but after X-wind to downwind I calmed down and just smiled. I didn't even notice my CFI gone. I was suprised how quickly the plane climbs without that weight next to you.....
But all three landings were great, now I just to work on my rudder and more flare! I have to say my first or second was the best landing I've ever done. After that, I parked and got my shirt tale cut in the office. Everyone in the office was happy and I kept getting handshakes and congradulations from everywhere. Overall a great day I will NEVER forget. Oh, I soloed at 15.4 hours, and pics to come...
I flew a plane by myself!

| Re: I scared my CFI right out of the plane today Congrats! I remember that feeling of the first solo! That feeling can only be surpased by finishing your first long XC. Except for one minor error with closing my flight plan it was flawless. All my calculations were dead on, (thanks to accurate weather), I joined a busy Traffic Pattern at St George that seemed to go back to normal levels after I landed, a fair landing, and then flawless take off. It was the first time I really felt like a pilot. Keep up the good work. |
