Default Won ExpressJet Ground School Scholarship

Was automatically entered by submitting my resume to XJET at OBAP convention this week and was selected. Its a 2 1/2 weeks of ground school and sim practice. When the recruiter called to let me know I said I would be honored to accept but Im a full-time instructor, but she said they can work something out. She's going out of town but will call me on the 27th. Pretty excited about this opportunity, does anyone else have any experience with the Ground School Scholarship?

First of all... CONGRATS!

Secondly... How many hours are you up to?

Heck... by the time you are ready to take the free ground school then you'll probably meet the hiring mins.

Here's what you should do... Call her back and recommend that you just get offered an interview... and have them give the GS Scholarship to someone else since you'll be getting it anyway during new hire GS.

I'm only kinda kidding... depending on your hours of course.

Outstanding! I was at the local OBAP get together about a month ago. Guess I missed my chance.

Hey, I'll give you a call before the weekend is over. Shuttle's coming down early due to the hurricane, so I might have to go to work early.

No experience with the scholarship, but I did just finish ground school (checkride's on Monday).

Study hard, it's a two and a half week interview. If you're a schmuck in class (it DOES happen) it's a pretty sure fire way to NOT get a job. If you do well, you're in like whoa.

It'd be even better if they would sign your ground school off when you pass as a training event so you don't have to do it again.

Thanks for the info. Here's the thing, I know ATP can't let me off for 2 1/2 weeks to do this, but the lady said thats fine she'll work something out.

Herreshoff doesn't like Texas because he was born with only one testicle.

South Texas is a whole - the way I see it, we can give back to Mexico everything south of San Antonio.

Congrats! You will have a great time in houston and learn a lot about not only transport catagory jets but also airline ops and what is expected from an airline pilot. Consider it an interview as well, this is a great opportunity if you want to work for XJT. When you get your class date post it here.

Good Luck,
Paul

I really need to get out to CRG some time soon, miss that place.
