| Hello, Just joined this forum. I'm an old guy (relative to you) with the same dream to fly for an airline, and I'm changing careers for this new adventure. It maybe a case of the classic "mid-life crisis" but after being in my present career for 20 years I realize it's now or never to live another dream. I've had low incomes and I've had higher incomes and everything being equal I'd rather have higher income. However, when things aren't equal and you dread going to work, the balance tips. I remember the passion felt when beginning the first career as a physician. As I begin this new adventure essentially from zero hours to airline pilot, that same passion is burning in my gut. It's the same thing you have buring in your gut. We're sort of all "in the same boat" (though I'm old enough to be your dad), with the same purpose, same goals, same passion. The people on this forum seem to understand that. There's a general atmosphere of helpfulness and kindness. Thanks for letting me sit in. |

| That passion is exactly what i feel everyday, everynight. Its all i think about. Im going into aviaition blindly. I knew nothing about it, i have no friends or relatives that are interested in it. Its expensive but well worth it. Every time i go up in the air its always just as exciting as the first. I spend most of my time doing anything that has to do with aviation. I even got into models so i could at least fly somethin when i wasnt in an airplane!! But flying is my passion, its my life now. Im 18 years old right out of high school. I was first all team state in football, i hold track records and was riding on a scholarship to the university of idaho. But when i took my first flight I knew right there that i wouldnt be playing football anymore. i think your going to love this new career. There are so many different flying jobs to experience Im just dying to get out there and fly. Anyway my name is ben, im from couer d alene idaho, and if your ever in the area, let me know. good luck to ya |
