Default Today I ..................

Ran 12 miles in a little over two hours. That is the longest distance I have ever done in that time. I am tired, sweaty, and pleased. Maybe this "middle-aged" girl can inspire someone else to push a little harder next time to accomplish a new goal!

I thought I'd never do it either! That is why I wanted to give some encouragement. Maybe inspire someone else to try something they thought they would never do either!

I can tell I need to stretch a bit extra this morning for sure!!

I may run later this year in a Cure Autism Now event. (I will see though) Yesterday was just for me, not a prep for anything in particular, just to see what I could do and push a little.

With a slight headwind, groundspeed is slower than the traffic on the interstate at rush hour!

I once had a kid in my C-172 actually ask why the cars on the interstate were going faster than we were! How embarrrasing.

Congrats Toria,

The wife and I are building up for the Marine Corps 1/2 marathon here in Oct, and I'm doing a Sprint Triathalon tomorrow morning. It definitely feels good to get off the duff and get in shape, doesn't it?!

For the record, last year I would've said people like this are crazy. I'm just trying to get some health back in this body I've abused for years...

Good on ya. My girlfriend did a half-marathon last year. I thought she was out of her mind, but she really enjoyed the experience.

Myself...............and my trainer had some words of encouragement at about mile nine... and mile ten and eleven and twelve I could not have done it without my trainer, so he deserves some credit too.

Thanks to everyone who has shared my excitement in this!!! I still feel happy today, but a little sore and stiff.

I could probably never run two miles in a continuous 5 day stretch!!!!

Actually, I used to play a lot of sports and run all the time. Now I'm lazy!

Edit: I forgot to say... Congrats Toria.

There were a few times I needed some incentive to keep going but never thought of Pit Bulls! Maybe I would have gone 13 if I had!

I would not have been able to do 12 even 3 months ago. Still feels good to have pushed it like that.
