| Hey all, I'm a CFII with 630TT, 25 multi PIC, and comparable experience therein. My logbook shows 29 different types, not 172P and 172L, but 29 different airframes. I own a Mooney M20 and use her to travel back and forth between my home in Dallas Tx to university in Jacksonville Florida. When I'm not instructing I'm filling my other logbook, the one I'm keeping in pursuit of my A&P certificate. I like working on planes nearly as much as I like flying them. Plus, doing your own annual inspections saves a ton of money that can better be spent on Avgas and the like. Next week I go to MEPS so I can join the Army National Guard as an Apache driver. A buddy of mine is a squad commander here in TX and he's been on me for a while to join. Once he put me in the seat I was sold. I'll graduate in December 08 with my bachelors degree and then its on to the regionals we all know and love. Hopefully I can get some good info of these boards and maybe even contribute some. When I'm not flying I'm taking pictures of anything and everything: http://jfc17.smugmug.com lates yo |

| They had an explosive decompress at FL28, put on their masks initiated the decent, and neglected to turn on the Aux O2 system during preflight so they passed out. One of the pilots woke up at 7,000 and started to pull out of the dive. In doing so he pulled the elevator almost completely off, buckled the tail end of the fuselage, and almost snapped the wings off at the midroot. Some how they were able to actually able to land the airplane in that condition. View the picture in the gallery and you can see more shots of it.

| Senior Member | Welcome. I'm up at OK City, OK. You ever come up this way? There are quite a few people from around the Dallas area here on JC. Check the Meet & Greets section for M&Gs we have around there. |

| Was that King Air the one that went down in Cape Girardeau, MO a couple months ago? I visit that airport frequently and for the longest time that airplane was just rotting on the ramp. What ever became of it?

In other news, I had an engine failure on the home leg of my first solo charter flight today. Turns out losing that critical engine really does make your life miserable. Pictures: http://jfc17.smugmug.com/gallery/3288987

Your photos are amazing! (Nick, you have some competition.) Did it take you a while to get that good with an SLR? Maybe it's time for me to upgrade. Which cruise ship did you travel on in Alaska? I did the same trip in July on the Sun Princess. Alaska is unbelievable. Can't wait to go back. | |

The ship I was on was the Golden Princess and as for Alaska...There are no words for what I saw there. Simply amazing. I would love to get F/O job up there when I finish my degree this year. No, I was just a hired hand on this flight. My "job" is dividing my time between being a CFII and an A&P apprentice. One of the PAX is the uncle of the aircraft owner who hired me to fly them on their trip. Oh yeah...here are pictures taken during the event from the inside: http://jfc17.smugmug.com/gallery/3292056
