| Newbie | Hey everyone, I,m new to this forum as well. Still trying to figure out how to personalize and update my profiel. Well I'll get to that sson enough. I have been flying since 1990 and have recently had a strong desire to make a living out of this passion (from what I've been reading likr a scary thing to do right now). My first question is what is the difference between being on the line and on reserve. Can some one be knid enough to explain this to me. Sorry although I've been flying for many years, it's always been just for fun. Now, with a comm/inst rating, I'm rady to take the next step and am doing my research about a carrer in aviation. I thank you in advance for your input. |

| Old Skool | http://www.jetcareers.com/content/section/4/113/ Start there. Lots of good information that Doug compiled. Line = Assigned to actual flights Reserve = On Call if needed. That is a very basic description mind you.

| Welcome aboard, Nonstop! Let me just say, it's not scary at all. Challenging, yes. Scary, no. Scary is being shot at while you're flying (ask C650 or MikeD), or dodging insurgents with RPGs (ask TheOneMarine). Flying airplanes for a living? Fun and rewarding.
