Hahahaha.... yeah, and they're not clouds but 'areas of lower visibility!'

I was an ATC for about 7 months before I realized I hated it... but its still enough to incorporate my experiences into flying.

Since I live on ACK, getting to HYA is no biggie. In fact, I plan on going up there on Monday to get checked out at Air Cape Cod so I can finish up my roommate's Private.

PM me with a good number to reach you.

I'm going to try to stay on ACK if I can. Apparently, if I can one other pilot who wants to live here too Cape Air will make ACK a base (it takes 2 pilots to make a base).

However, if that won't work then I'll try for HYA, MVY, and EWB (in that order).

Then maybe SJU in the caribbean, since my aunt lives down there and maybe I set up shop on her couch (and pocket the relocation money! )

Strange paradigm..

F/O on a Cessna 402 which is certified as a single pilot airplane to build flight time so you can fly the same airplane as a single pilot captain.

How does that work? It seems like a pencil whipping almost. Company justifies a F/O to log flight time, and then when they reach a magic number, they fly the same airplane single pilot?

I doubt they will base you in ACK, however it seems that most of the time when you show up to work in the afternoon they will ride you on a cape air flight to the plane your flying for the day on ACK. If you have AM showtimes however you need to start on HYA. As far as basing expect HYA, anything else is very hard to get unless your senior for the winter bid. If you wanna goto Carib in the winter that bid starts around Nov I think, and should be easy to get for a newhire. Id recommend it. you can bank allot of money there, 3K relocation + $3 an hour override.

It wurks, FOs are required under the companies Op specs for Captains with under 100 hrs PIC time in a 402 when they file IFR, Also required when autopilot is busted in IFR, so the SIC time is legit

I checked into this before I applied. I did my homework on the airline and the FO program is legit.

In fact, since they're taking on so many new captains the FOs are extremely busy.

I was wondering the same thing. Former instructor of mine (and JCer) is over there as a CA, but I don't think he's ever flown with an FO.....even when he first started.

He had to have flown with someone, probably the chief pilot.
