Yep, chalk up another one. Passed my type ride earlier this morning so I am now also a Saab captain along with Cruise!!!! All 6 of the guys in my upgrade class made it through on the first shot.

Drinks on me...wait it's not even noon yet...oh well, it's five o'clock somewhere and the Fat Tire tastes good anyway...

Looks like this year it's gonna be Network JC Regional Captains in Las Vegas!!

Seriously, good job. How was the ride? Give me a call when you get a chance.

On a side note, I brought a twelve of Fat Tire back home as well. Stuffed in my rollaboard....it must've been 40-50 lbs. with all my crap and all the beer.....haha I thought I'd get a funny look from the screener when it showed up on the monitor....but nope. Right on through.

I'll be headed to Columbus, Ohio (CMH) for my new base. I'll also be doing my IOE there starting next Tuesday. So if you're flying Airways from CMH to PIT next week you'll very likely be my first victims...err...passengers as a newly minted Captain.

And yes, it is QUITE a relief to be done and add another aircraft type to my certificate.

Hey, does this mean that you are going to be basing out of Columbus, or only that you have another training program to complete before you figure out where you will be finally basing out of?

Yes and no. There is still the 20 hrs of line flying with a check airman for initial operating experience to go, but that is actually going to be done in CMH which is also base when it is all finished. Clear as mud?

Congrats man! I'm right behind ya. So where did you find fat tire anyhow? I was just out at the brewery in Ft. Collins CO last month! And now with a LGA base, maybe you can get out of CMH!

They sell the tire in St Louis. I brought a case back when I had my PC last year and now another case back from upgrade.

Yeah, I'm expecting to only have August there and move on out. We shall see though.
