Default Also new to this forum

Hi all.

I'm new here and also a refugee from another airline related forum. I hope this place will be a more constructive environment for all involved.

As for me, I am a Captain for Alaska Airlines currently living near Seattle, WA. I originally from the SF bay area and would love to live there again if I could afford it and wanted to commute.

I am happy to field questions about flying for Alaska and questions about a career in the topsy turvey world of airline flying. I'm glad to be here.

Hey Mike, welcome! I just got back from Seattle...literally just walked through the door. I kept watching Alaska jets fly over my head all weekend and wondered if any of those pilots were on JC, haha. We're glad to have ya!

Welcome Aboard!!
I used to work for Alaska as an Ops/CS agent down in BUR. Have you ever flown to BUR.
Almost forgot, nice to have you on board. I am certain we can all learn a lot from you.

Howdy Mike!

There's an Alaska new hire on the forum from time to time!

Welcome!

It has come to my attention that there is a so-called attorney in Seattle that is bad-mouthing our migration.

Oh, I was going to crack a joke about the song "Monkey" by George Michael but soon realized that no one would know what the hell I'm jabbering about.

*sigh!* I'm culturally ancient! Ooh! Glen Miller's on the transistor radio!

FYI To all of my friends regarding that other aviation website. My former screen name at that other website has been seen online over there multiple times over the weekend, even though I have no longer have access or an account there. I personally saw my name several times on Saturday and then last night a friend called me on my cell phone while I was watching the Academy awards to tell me I was online again. Sure enough, I ran to my computer and there was my name logged on. THIS IS NOT ME! SOMEONE IS POSING AS ME! If you see my former screen name logged on, it is fraud! Do not try to send me a message there. My attorneys have been notified but I wanted to notify my friends as well.Back to the good vibes here...carry on...

My suggestion...

Leave the "Drama" of the other forums behind. Accept the culture here and have fun with it.

As a whole, we still have our share of grammar nazi's, know-it-alls, posers, knockdown drag-out arguements, naive newbies, and grizzled veterans... but overall... it's a kinder-gentler feel here. The "majority" keep it light and informative and keep most of the non-aviation related fun and "trash talking" in the LAV.

Doug & Kristie have a set of "Rules", and a very specific goal for this site that make this place sooooo worth while. If you haven't already read them... please do.

It's not perfect over here... but it's pretty darn close.

Welcome again to all the new folks!

Bob

I guess I missed the drama altogether. I did a quick search of posts by Skygirl and Wild4theuniform and couldn't find the drama. I looked for a disparaging remark by Vagabond (who by the way is not a "so-called" lawyer, she's a lawyer and a judge) and found none.

Anyway, I'm all in favor of y'all being here and having fun, but I don't get the crass remarks about APC.

The PM function is great for these types of things!

I don't really want to know nor do I really care...plus, i don't think it's good to talk about bad vibes on other forums, which is the reason for the PM suggestion above

Bob said it best earlier:
