| Junior Member | Well I got a call from Chuck Colgan last Saturday and offered an interview for Thursday. The company flew me into LGA on Wednesday afternoon being that US Airways does not have a direct flight to DFW. I stayed at the Clarion which really wasn't great but overall not too bad, but it was at my expense and was the cheapest of them all. Arrived early at Flight Safety, and met a Colgan FO named Drew. Shot the bull with him for a while and then met Chuck Colgan and Cathy Angelo. Really nice people. They really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcome. Everyone else started arriving and the interviews started around 9am. We sat down to do the written and I was the first to be called in for the interview. It was a 3 on 1 interview with Chuck, Drew, and someone from HR but I dont remember her name. Typical questions like why colgan, why should we hire you, some Jepp questions, seminole systems, why would you be a good captain. Some others but thats all I remember right now. Finished that and went back for the written. I had just taken the ATP written at ATP a couple of days before so it was really easy. It took about 10 minutes to finish. Straight out of the ATP book. By the way, I highly recommend the ATP one day course. I went in and had only studied about an hour for the test on my own, studied their question bank for about 5 hours, took the test and made a 90. Definitely beats studying for 2 weeks. After the written was the sim. For some reason I was the first again, even though I tried to go last. I had studied all of the previous gouges and did the sim profile several times so I was comfortable with it. Well guess what, that day was the day for the new sim profile. Depart from White Plains, departure procedure, direct to the VOR for a hold. Brief it correctly and you dont have to do it. Then vectors back for the ILS. This was all done in the Beech 1900 full motion sim which was really awesome. I was kinda lucky because it is very similar to the King Air so I was pretty comfortable in it. Walked back to the class room with my sim group and we were told that we had all done really well and were offered a class date for March 9th. Accepted and then off for the drug test, then back home. I think they ended up hiring 5 out of 6 people that day which is unusual because they said they only hire 1 out of every 4. I especially want to thank jtrain, seggy and captain bob. You guys really helped me out more than you know. Networking is everything in this business and this site is really great for that, so I also want to thank Doug also. |

| Congrats on the interview! I'm in the groundschool class right now, so if you have any questions just let me know. Systems is real tough but doable. You'll definately know what it means to drink from the fire hose when you get here. Again, congrats |

| Congrats! If you get the Saab, Vic is a fantastic ground school instructor. As far as bases go, bid for Jamestown. It's the hidden jewel in the Colgan system. ![]()
