finally decided to take it. i've been gleiming it up, so i felt like i had memorized enough answers to pass. first question, something ive never seen in my life. second, again something ive never seen. then the next like SEVEN were all dc9, b727, etc questions.. at this time my confidence was lowww. i was thinking, what the hell am i doing here... i realized that i actually needed to use knowledge, not just memorization to pass this thing... but i ended up passing with an 85. i'm happy with that. for just about every jet question asking for time enroute, cg, weight shift, etc that i did not study, i selected B. when in doubt, select B. it worked!... or actually learn it. but b works too!! now i can get back to normal life again, and forget everything i had just studied. |

Any reasons or crazy theories for selecting B when in doubt?

I was the guy buying the POH. It was my first time flying there. It seems like a really nice place to fly. The owners take a real interest in things running right and it shows. It was the only school in Houston that I could find that was even remotely interested in doing initial CFI ratings. There are 4 of us doing a CFI groundschool with the owner. I did hear they will be looking for another full time CFI once the airport work is complete.

I need to get my test done soon. I bought the Gleim book, and I've been studying it some, but all the airliner questions are useless to me (and probably most of us). Afterall, why do I care how to do a W&B on a B727 or DC-9? Oh that's right, I don't care. So, mark me down for the "just choose B" method. Why do we even take written tests anymore? It seems like the memorization method is what everyone does anyway, so what is the test proving? BTW, congrats riot!
