| Old Skool | What a guy. Bwatz (Brian) sent me a PM earlier this week, offering to send me the DA-20/DA-40 operating manuals. At first I declined the offer and told him my thanks because I didn't have the money to purchase any new books right now - he came back and told me he was offering them to me for free, and just to tell him my address and he would shipped them to me. Very cool! Turned out that we (the wife and I) would be travelling back home this weekend, so to save Brian on shipping I told him I could meet up with him to pick the books up. He wasn't sure he would be free, but that if I didn't mind he would leave the box with the books at either Falcon or the FBO and that I could pick it up. So that was the plan. This morning I called him up to leave a message saying that we had to run up to Atlanta for something, and that I'd be back down in the PTC / Newnan area later in the afternoon. I get a text message around 1:30 saying that he had left the box at Falcon w/ the dispatcher, and all I had to do was go and pick it up. I walk into Falcon, tell the dispatcher that I'm here to pick up a box from Brian and wow. . . it's a huge box. I finally get it home, open it up, and let me tell you what. . . what a collection of books. Not only did he give me the Diamond operation manuals - but he pretty much gave me a great deal of other reading materials, ASA PTS guides, Jepp Private pilot book, Seminole manual, kneeboard, metal ASA E6B, and a bunch of other stuff - Instrument training books, etc. Pretty damn cool of him. Another excellent, little known, JC member helping another JC member out. Brian recently was hired on with Pinnacle and I'm sure each of us wish him the best of luck in his career. Thanks Brian for such a wealth of information. Much more than I expected! |
