| So, The lateral move within Delta is a done deal, I'm just waiting to be told when I need to start reporting to the General Offices (GO) instead of Tech Ops. Should be end of the month. Now onto airport analyzation and special departure procedures. I'll basically be in contact with marketing regarding new airports that they would like to begin service into, as well as optimizing equiptment useage for the current markets. But here's the best part. I'll be working on creating and modifying current special departure procedures. Basically taking the Jepp plates and reworking them based on Delta safety specs and with an engine out. A worst case scenario regarding performance. I believe they referred to these pages as the "green sheets" in the pilot's plates. With that comes jumpseat previliges as well as some time in the sims with the pilots, getting their input regarding modifications to the procedures. I hope it'll allow for networking galore when it comes to the bottom line about flying commercially someday. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to getting started over there. Apparently they want me to be ready to work performance and modified procedures for the 777 LR's we're getting in the future as well as 737-700's. Doug and all the DL pilots on the boards, if there has ever been a procedure you hate and want revised, lemme know, I'll be your "inside man". Maybe I'll be able to join along up front for a ride sometime. |
