So far I love it and havent had any planes hit each other "knock on wood". the coolest thing, I have cameras for inside the terminal to check out the ladies. So dough or anyone if your're ever in JFK between 1 and 930 give me aholla on 131.025

Weirdo.

Just kidding...seriously, congratulations man. So I guess that means you aren't coming back to Avion any time soon, huh?

I could have done that at PHL for US but I would have had a really crappy shift. It's quite fun though from what I hear. Enjoy!

Congrats! How does one go about snagging a job like that.. in other words---what is the "career path" to get there?? I've always been curious as to how those guys get their job, because if I am correct--it is not an ATC position per se, am I correct?

No Definatly not an ATC position (although I should be taking the test soon) Its not exactly a career in my eyes, I'm not sure how much other airlines pay for this position but Im sure its a heck of a lot more then Im making. I started customer service august of 04, then went to baggage service, then to load planning, then to operations then ramp control.

That is what I thought the career path would be like... but I didn't want to offend you Congrats anyways.... you've got an "office" job now compared to your other ones!

At US Airways you can work ramp control almost as easy as working outside on the ramp. You just put in paperwork and if they have the space you can bid up there. I was asked to come up after about 6 months of working outside but I was getting fridays and saturdays off and the shift i wanted, and that would have disappeared if I transferred up. They obviously make sure you're not the kind of person who is going to back 2 aircraft into one another before they bring you up. The majority of the guys at PHL have been up there for many years.
