Default American Eagle newbie

Well, just got the confirmation on the class date at American Eagle.

Really looking forward to flying something that isn't all broken and duck taped together with a crazy student pilot trying to kill me!

Zero to Airline job in about 2 1/2 years.

I did a full write-up of the interview in the Interview section if anyone is interested.

I got pretty much ALL of my info about airline life, flight training and how to get from Zero to Hero at JETCAREERS over the last few years so THANKS EVERYONE for all the help! I will continue to recommend everyone interested in becoming a pilot to Jetcareers...it is a wonderful resource!

Thanks...

I'll let you know which aircraft...

Hoping for DFW, LAX or ORD... Should be easy to do if I pick the Saab over the Jet....aircraft doesn't matter really, pay is the same 1st year anyway and you can transfer aircraft after 1 year seat lock. Anything would be a step up at this point.

You know, I should write one myself. Didn't think of that.

Congratulations RPM! I know that feeling you speak of.

I got the LAX SF3.

My class has 19 people and probably 10 of them are between ages 30 to 53....so the senority based domicile selection was slim pickins... I thought I would be "senior" at 27. Doh!!! Last class had 18 EMB's offered, this one only had 5.

breakdown:

5 ord EMB
2 dfw SF3
3 lax SF3
4 mia ATR
5 "the rock" ATR

DFW and Chicago were picked instantly and the rest of us fought over the leftovers desperately trying to avoid being based on the Rock!!

Wow...so were there 9 people below you, or did some folks want the ATR?

You'll like the Slaab flying out of LA--good weather, (comparatively) competent and laid back controllers, and they fly into beautiful places.

and how does the picking what plane and where you wanna go work? the seniority to pick them is based on age or what? I bet the EMBs disappeared rather quick lol

There was 8 below me....1 person "chose" ATR Miami. I got second LAX spot, one more took LAX then the rest went to the ATR.

Little over 1,000 and 300 multi hours....

Yes the order of pick is based on age and my class was full of "old" people...and yes, obviously the EMB was taken first.
