NAh, not me either. Some FO out of another base just came in and bumped us all down again. YEah, we have to interview here for upgrade. It keeps most of the scmucks and dirtbags from upgrading. Nothing tough. Just a quick panel review, make sure you didn't bust any pc's, give the CP any headaches etc. I like the protections that unions provide, but i don't agree that anyone should be able to upgrade just because their number is up.

NICE!!!!

FYI, the rumot mill says things should pick up quickly after Jan. I was talking to the CP the other day and he said there are about 20 people in front of me. We'll see how long it takes. Only Beech transitions in class this month.

People don't just magically upgrade just because their number is up, they are sent to training, and upon passing said training, are given the 4 stripes.

I personally don't like the idea that people out of senority order are able to upgrade based on their abilityto "get things done". I'm sure this doesn't exist at Colgan, but it does exist. In a safety sensitive environment such as aviation, the system as it stands is probably the best, IMO.

Don't get me wrong! I don't like flying with jerks either. I've done entire legs where nothing was said except call-outs. It's no fun. But I still respected the CA's for doing what they do - being in command of a large piece of machinery and safely getting people from A to B. They know what they are doing, and do it safely.

Uuggh, there are absolutely jerks anywhere you go. I've (unfortunately) had the misfortune to fly w/ a particular jerk here more than my fair share. Never anything said....other than callouts.....I don't care for many of the things he does (safety / regulatory) and he doesn't like my opinions on some things. As a result, not much to talk about.

I never said there weren't jerks. I'm not sure where you got that impression?

No no no........sorry for the confusion.

I wasn't implying that you were the only one flying w/ jerks. Just the opposite, in fact.....jerks are everywhere and it's not fun flying w/ 'em. I was basically feeling your pain. LOL
