Default Leaving American Eagle

I have decided to leave American Eagle Airlines for a mechanic position with Horizon Air in Portland, OR to be closer to family. American Eagle is a great place to work however they are not located where I need to be, nor do they fly to Boise, ID where the majority of my family now lives.

For those mechanics wondering about compensation difference, there is not much. Horizon slightly beats out American Eagle if you are on a third shift for first year pay. Horizon top out pay is in 9 years where as Eagle is 12. Eagle has doubletime pay where as Horizon does not. Horizon allows mechanics to jump seat, Eagle does not. Other than those they are basicly the same.

When I saw the title of this thread, the first thing that came to mind was were you senior to me. But good luck at Horizon, they seem like a real solid company.

Are you a QX employee? If not who else is?

I am interested in meeting other QX employees, especially in Portland.

Say hi to Jared G in PDX. He got hired there right out of A and P school. I've known him through the church camp I volunteer at for years and he stayed with me one summer.

Yep, I helped him get the information for the Horizon when I was getting ready to take the job with Eagle. Some of the information he gave me has helped with my decision.
