| Some of you might think this is interesting, others wont care. I figured I would share it anyway. When I applied for my job with the Highway Patrol, I sent out many other applications. Some of them where to government branches, some where to different LE agencies. Well last night when I got off work I had a message on my answering machine for me to return a phone call. I went ahead and returned the phone call to find out that I have been accepted, and will soon begin my work/training as a US Marshal. (Keep in mind, not an Air Marshal) I went in this morning to the local office for one of many interviews, and was asked what field I wanted to go into. I applied to aviation/transportation which will be some time before I have a chance at that, but I went for it anyway. In the mean time, I will be working on with the Fugitive Apprehension Squad. Well, this is something that I have always wanted to do. I just figured it would be some time before this happened because its anywhere upto 3 years just to have an application viewed. We shall find out... I don't know what the future holds in regards to free time, so if anyone is interested I will post how its going. I have to go to another interview this afternoon so got to go... Sorry if I just wasted your time... ![]() |

| Wow that rocks! Congrats! I was heading down the LE road years ago and ended up flying instead. Have fun and as I told my buddy who went into the FBI, 'don't shoot your toes off'! I kid, I kid ![]() Were you already working in LE?

| Outstanding, Five-O!! Best of luck! One of my good friends had a similar path to his employment: Started with a local police department Worked for the sherriff's office for a while Worked on Madelyn Albright's Diplomatic Security Staff Last I heard was still working for the State Department in some capacity. Okay...so maybe that's not so similar. ![]() But anyway..... Congratulations!! R2F

| Wow - exciting! Sounds a lot like my job - I crunch numbers in front of a computer all day. Oh wait, it's nothing like my job. Sounds really cool - when I hear about folks with jobs like that, I always shake my head and mutter something about the public school system failing me. I had to watch a Navy guy hop in his Hornet and fly out of KPIE the other day. Awesome to see, but man I'm jealous. Good luck! |

Just be sure of the DUSM duties for the district you'll be working in... unless you're an 1811, you could be stuck doing jail and court duty most of your time, supplemented by the occassional warrant. J. | |
