Sorry I have not got the chance to respond sooner. My days have been filled with papers and polygraphs. Everything is going great and I have never been so happy. It is looking like I am going to be able to work out of South Florida when all is said and done. I am thrilled about that because I have lived here all my life, and always want to. On top of that, it is an interesting atmosphere down here with the people that we work with.

In regards to aviation, it is around a 5 year prior service with the Marshal's before that becomes an option. As I said in my last post, I will be working with the Fugitive Apprehension Squad which is one of the most interesting things ever.

Thanks again for all of the support everyone has offered.

Why didnt you go through with it, or did you?

One of my good friends had a similar path to his employment:
Started with a local police department
Worked for the sherriff's office for a while
Worked on Madelyn Albright's Diplomatic Security Staff
Last I heard was still working for the State Department in some capacity.

Okay...so maybe that's not so similar.

But anyway..... Congratulations!!

R2F
Thank you R2F. It is similar in its own ways.

Congrats, are you going to work with Walker . . . oh no he's a Texas Ranger. hmmmm.

Seriously though . . . I remember being in a house working on an assault victim, when we heard several gunshots outside . . . the cops were our heros that night!

Good luck . . .
Hahaha, thats a funny one. Coming from a younger guy, thanks for your service. We are all brothers out there in some way.

In regards to working with Walter... you never know..

Not going to lie, I was looking forward to meeting you. Hopefully we still can, just on happy terms.

Sounds really cool - when I hear about folks with jobs like that, I always shake my head and mutter something about the public school system failing me. I had to watch a Navy guy hop in his Hornet and fly out of KPIE the other day. Awesome to see, but man I'm jealous.

Good luck!
Thanks for the support. Hey, you are doing a job that someone has to do. I would never in a million years last doing what you do, so I'm jealous.

Do you have any experience? It sure does sound like that. If so I would love to hear about it. I made sure not to be stuck with jail and court duty, although I am going to say, you never know. It will be the 1811 series.

Once again, thanks to everyone for your support. I might have the privilege to meet some of you airline guys while transporting a prisoner or two.

Cool! What 1811 vacancy did you apply under? They haven't been hiring 1811s off the street in a while. Were you an intern? Military? The only announcement I saw for them recently was for 1811 laterals.

Have they intiated your BI? I'm not sure I follow your timeline - was this a COE, as they hadn't poly'd you already? Congrats on getting a close district.

Best of luck,
J.

The aviation guys would always be standing permiter around MD-80's while they shipped illegals back to Mexico at IWA.
