| Moderator | Most of you know I wrote a book last spring, and I've been working on getting a publisher. I talked to ASA publications late last spring, and they said to contact them again in the winter to see how their work-load looked. I couldn't wait til winter, and I contacted them again a couple weeks ago, sent off a full proposal, and here was their response: "Hi Amber, just a quick note to let you know I received the proposal -- great job completing the form. We are having a meeting the end of this month to discuss projects for 2007 and yours will be on the table. I hope to have an answer for you before month end. Please don't hesitate to email again with any questions or prompt me along as the date gets closer. Hope you and yours have a great Thanksgiving, J.S. [name edited by me], Curriculum Director" So send lots of prayers, and keep fingers toes and everything crossed that my project makes the cut! ![]()

| Moderator | My book is preliminarily titled "The Essential Guide to Flight Attendant Training, and Surviving Life as a New-Hire". The title may change, but I think it gets across the message. It's an in-depth look at the flight attendant training process, what to pack, what to expect, what's involved in the classes, etc. Also a guide of how to survive the first few months/year. Usually new-hire flight attendants have very little knowledge of the realities of the job, and don't have realistic expectations. They are stressed out in new-hire school, and once on the line experience massive culture shock. My book helps take away the unknown factor, and prepares people for their new career! Thanks for all the well-wishes guys! I'm really excited to have generated the interest that I have, and ASA would really be the best match publishing-wise for this book.
