| Old Skool | Busted my MEI Initial with the FSDO today. http://jetcareers.com/forums/showthr...499#post456499 That thread explains my foolishness. Never take anything for granted. An otherwise perfect checkride gets flushed due to my over confidence. ![]()

| Hey no sweat man, sounds like the examiner was a bit over thorough anyway. To be honest with you I dont think I have ever done ground reference maneuvers in a twin engine airplane, so i was suprised when i read that you had to on your checkride. At least it was something stupid right? At least you didnt feather the wrong prop or something serious like that. congrats on your speedy progress by the way |

| Old Skool | I don't like doing them, but the DE I did my MEI ride with pulled it out. My CFI and I ASSUMED he would use the traffic pattern as a rectangular course to satisfy the ground ref portion. So, we're heading back, and he says "Give me a turn around a point on that lake, there." I was like "WTF? I haven't done one of those since my PPL, and I've never done one in a Seminole!" Luckily, it worked out. Every student I had for the MEI after that did turns around a point, just in case....

In the end the FSDO gets a failure and I get my ticket. Just as stated above.
