| After thinking about it for a while I called skywest back and said thanks but no thanks for an interview. I obviously filled out online app, partly because I wanted to see how quick they called. I thought hard about it but I gotta say I enjoy my job now and combine that with the first year pay, I just can't do it. I could care less what type of "shiny jet" I fly so I just decided having weekends off and a decent pay check means more to me than saying I am an airline pilot. I'll stick with the baron for now. For all those that want to work there, she told me on the phone that if I changed my mind I could call her back anytime, Seems as though they are hiring by the boatload. |

| I applied last Thursday online with Skywest and still no phone call. I thought I would get a ring within 24hrs with how they are hurting so badly for new hires. I am only 100 hrs away from 135 mins and still am debating between regional and frieght. I am interested to see someone decline 121 for 135. Makes me think that 135 is not that bad.

| Old Skool | I got a call after two weeks. And yes they want to hire something like 500 pilots. Everybody's hiring. If you have at least 750/50, you'll be competative with more than one regional.

| Yeah I got around 2200TT / 1250 multi. I have LOVED 135 flying. I don't want to do it for ever but I the experiences that I have gained have been invaluable. I recommend it to anyone who wants to be different than the status quo. Regionals aren't going anywhere, try 135 and if you don't like it 121 will always be there. |

| Old Skool | You don't see pretty planes at alot of the 135 freight outfits and the equipment isn't always standardized. 135 just doesn't hold the prestige that 121 does. It's mostly based on misconception, though. You might not find an autopilot or a hot flight attendant (no offense to 121, at all, i mean it!), but you might like it, nonetheless. It's an experience. It's tough, but it's an experience. I flew with some corporate guys a few years back. Two were former freightdogs and two came from the corporate side. At the time I only had 550 TT. The freightdogs kept telling me to go fly freight for a while and then go back if I wanted to. The two coporate guys didn't really know what they meant by that. Well, now I know. If you can intercept an ILS, turning right at the marker, in the ice, fly an approach down to 280/24G35 1800 RVR 100 VV +SN at 4 am to a 3000 ft runway on a steep hill in the dead of winter, you know you can run with the big boys! How's that, JB? Is that close?
