This pales in comparison to birth announcements, engagements, and new hires, but... I made my final student loan payment today, so no more student loans. WHEW!!! Thank God I was able to get rid of it; really started getting to me. So now, I must pay back my parents and grandmother (who have loaned me $$$$$$). <sigh> But oh well, no more student loans!!! ![]()

May I ask how much in loans did you have originally and how long it took you to pay them off? (whoever wants to answer)

Thanks, guys. Feels awesome! AngelFuree - it took me just under four years to pay off my loan. I had a full-time non-aviation job upon completion of my commercial; that helped, as did my parents. Like I said earlier, they loaned me money (quite a bit, for that matter) but are not in a rush to be recompensed. I love that website!

If you can punch that up to $250 or $275 you can knock a year or two, potentially, off the loan. Interest is the demon here. There are some great loan calculators at Bankrate.com where you can sorta game the loan and figure out what will work in a specific timeframe.
