| I got those coveted wings of gold! I just finished my last graded event last week and was winged on Friday. What a blast I have had this weekend. In about a month I am off for some training in SoCal and then to Whidbey Island, Wa to train in the EA-6B Prowler.

| Congrats! That's one of those most outstading memorable moments in life. First Solo flight is also another of those moments. Good luck in Whidby. Keep us posted. |

| Is there some kind of weird initiation that people do with pilot wings. Like take turns pushing them into each other without the protectors for the barbs. I only ask this because I saw that something where paratroopers?? do that., or did that.

| Well it is 'Tradition' that when you get your soft wings, everyone else who has wings is allowed to give you a hearty punch on the wings. You got to be careful with traditions like that because of the paratroopers incident some years ago. As for the hard wings with no backings on them, those were not punched into the chest. I was in dress whites and that might get messy.
