| Senior Member | Happy to answer them. No base choices are made available when accepting a class. The base position opening are not exactly made available until the first day of class. BUT the ANC carrot was dangled in front of me to accept the right-at-two-weeks Oct. 2 class. I was told that six out of eight in the class will be ANC based. No gaurantee after that. They do in-class seniority by age, so at 35 I would think I'd be in the top half.

| Senior Member | cheechako A new-comer to Alaska, ignorant of the terrain, the weather, the animals, the culture, the necessary driving skills in the winter, etc. Opposite of a sourdough. -Did you see the 90-car pile-up on the Glenn Highway this morning on your way to work? --Yeah, and how much you wanna bet that it was all caused by some goddamn Cheechako at the front of the pack? It'll be appropriate for a little while, I think...
