Angry Pending Furlough

Well, this 727 driver maybe furloughed in the next 10 days. Anyone have any jobs tips in the Detroit Area?

Just when you think your safe the rug gets yanked out...

Thanks for the vote of confidence there pal. However, we've been told hiring and upgrades to continue for a while.

thanks for the tip wheels up. I started my career with Royal. I am hoping to find a job north of 40K so I can pay the bills. I would prefer to stay 121 on large equipment, but I would consider switching to corporate or 135 if the pay and equipment were acceptable.

It took me 5+ years to work my way off the bottom tiers of avation and I really don't want to have to go back to slave wages and hours again..

usa jet is 40 plus to start, from a friend. although the 20 minute callout... no training contract though.

I'm assuming you've tried all the supp 72 operators? Capital Air Cargo runs a homebased operation. That being said, I have no idea about hiring... http://www.capitalcargo.com/

I'm so sorry to hear of the furlough. I speak from experience when I say IT SUCKS.

I hope you find something else real soon.

(Is it final yet? Or did you just get WARN letters?)

Sorry to hear, what happened?

Have you tried Turner Group Services in Utica?
BAX Global in TOL I thought was expanding (ok, it was from the Toledo Blade a while back, not the best newspaper)

amerijet = big no no, plus you have to live down in S. FL. it's definately a bottom feeder

fedex? I think if he could be there now something tells me he would

If I had the PIC time I would have been at FEDEX long ago. FEDEX is one tough nut to crack.

Thanks to everyone for the tips and encouragement. It is appreciated....

In fact I have a friend working at Champion. I think he's still a check airman so if you're considering applying, I'll try to put you in direct contact with him so he can give you the skinny.

I you have 1000 PIC, apply to Continental. The PIC does NOT have to be in turbine equipment. The commute from DTW would not be too bad. EWR 737 FOs are off reserve in a matter of months. They have hired guys with very varied backgrounds, not just RJ captains and Military guys. The first year pay is $30/ hr, but goes up very quickly.

Spirit has a base in DTW, not sure if they are hireing.
