| Old Skool | No, not at a regionol or a major but at my local FBO. The manager thought that I was some other guy looking for a matinence job so I got asked for the head of matinence and then he put me back with the General manager. So after a good laugh with him and a few yes sirs he told me that he was not sure if they needed a lineguy now, but he was interested in talking to me. Now I have an interview at 4:00 tomorow! This only is an interview, but its a big step. Now, Ive already figured out what Im going to wear (Nice casual kakies and a blue button down) But I just need to make sure I say the right things. So, could anyone tell me what kind of questions I should be ready for? Thanks!

| I really hope you get this job. It's good to see that you are going after what you want and not giving up. ![]() |

| Senior Member | If you get the job tomorrow, then great, if not, then you should give up on it and look for somethin' else. What has it been? Two weeks of them di#%in' you around? Everyday you hear somethin' else, and you've yet to get a job. I'm not sure if they're like me, but when I tell a guy "I'm not sure if I need anybody right now.", that means I don't need anybody, and I'm tryin' to be nice about it. Who knows, someday I might need them, and they might need you too, but it sounds like right now they're not lookin' for anyone. Just my .02.

| "So, could anyone tell me what kind of questions I should be ready for" 100LL is blue 100/130 is green (they don't make it anymore) 80/87 is red (they don't make it anymore) 115/130 is purple (that will blow him away, they don't make it anymore) Jet A has no color but smells like kerosene. The "mains" on 300/400 series are the tip tanks. If you fuel an MU-2, don't put your ladder under one of the wing tanks as that wing could come down so much that the ladder gets stuck. Can you drive a clutch? A big part of your job is just knowing the difference between a 152 and a Mooney. If you know your airplanes, be sure to prove it to the guy. And when you are refueling the trucks, always, ALWAYS, make sure the single point refueling is disconnected before you drive away. Know the difference between single point refueling and over-the-wing refueling. |

we dont have any jets on our airport. One fuel truck, used often but not that much. Cant drive yet Yes, I know the difference of a 152 and Mooney, Ill be sure to study some other aircraft that I might not be familiar with. Ill keep that in mind when fueling the fuel truck Over the wing is obvious, but what is single point refuling? another Q, what is the deffinition of a complex aircraft? Thanks

| No worries ![]() The FAA states that a HP airplane must be over 200 horsepower (one engine). 201 makes it, but a 200 horsepower Piper Arrow while complex is not high performance. Clear as mud? ![]() Nor is a Piper Seminole HP, although each engine is 180hp for a grand total of 360hp. At least one engine must be over 200hp. Hope that helps! |

| Old Skool | okay, then what is considered high performance? (sorry , bit confused)

| Sorry, I'm probably not typing clearly as of yet this morning! Simply put....an airplane with an engine of over 200 hp is High Performance. |

| "Over the wing is obvious, but what is single point refuling" If you only have one truck with 100LL, you don't need to worry about single point. Single point is what most commercial planes use. Rather than fuel through a hole in the top of the wing tank, you have a connector gizmo thingy on the end of your hose that twists onto the connector gizmo thingy on the aircraft fuel system. The you push a switch, stand back, and watch the gallon meter until you put in how ever much fuel you need. |

| "The only thing is that the pay sucks, its $5.75 p/hr to start, but I think its because I'm under 16. I think its worth it though for the experience" You'll learn a lot about aviation and meet people that could help you out some day with flying. As you run into airplane owners, the one's who seem cool you could offer to wash their planes for extra cash. Anyhow, I would think it beats flippin' burgers. It sure did for me. |
