| Hi all - Although I had an opportunity with a regional (620 total/100 multi), I decided to take a CFI job in my home town and SIC in a part 135 B200 part-time. I know that I would regret not instructing (it looks like I'll be doing some IFT for ROTC kids, which I think is going to be satisfying), and want to see ExpressJet find flying for those jets before applying. I also want to aggressively pursue an ANG slot, and like the idea of doing so from my home. Moving to Phoenix after college has been a very humbling experience. I love the area, but will never forget that it's the place I discovered that local law enforcement - what I thought was my calling - was not for me (came down here to be a cop). Time to pack up, head home, and get in the air. I honestly don't know what the future holds (FBI? Airlines? Stripping?), but I am glad to be in a position where I have options. I also look forward to instructing at the club that provided me with my training back in high school. Class of 2006, I will offer you this: for me, a member of the class of 2005, the year after college proved itself to be the toughest yet. Stay flexible, don't resist change, and don't be surprised if you have a change of heart. You might have been begging to get out of school, but you may soon find yourself wishing that you were back in (almost like cons I've spoken with who can't deal with the lack of structure outside of prison!)!!! GOOD LUCK! -J. |

| Old Skool | "Take a job?" You're being PAID to sit right seat in a B200?

| Yes. Disregard poor semantics. This is a reputable small-town outfit that loves alums from my alma mater and has never heard of "PFJ" - even interns make $15/hour. I can't tell you how cool it was to be a college student who was paid $15/hour to jumpseat. J. |

To be honest with you, I could care less. I will be getting fairly compensated and am not looking for any shortcuts (it'll be a regional job after this or an upgrade in my home town). I'm in no rush to put time in my logbook. J.

I should add that his pay did not go up significantly after he upgraded. I think it was about 41K when he stepped into their Hawker 700. J.
