| Old Skool | Well it looks like I need to get private instruction on weight and balance performance charts before I can take my FAA written for the PPL. I did not do so well on these and missed that day in class and the teacher told me she wont endorse my ground school card unless I either take her exam on it next week or seek my flight instructor to help me then he would sign off on it. Im starting to wonder if just taking normal lessons instead of the Aviation Degree program at this community college is a better way to go. The classes are only once a week. I think it would be easier to learn with the flight instructor per normal flight lesson. Anyone?

Also, the ground instruction is waaaaay cheaper. ($150 spent for a class would only get you about 3 hours of ground) Who is the teacher? Who do you have to go to for the weight and balance instruction? If you don't need a signoff or anything, I can teach/help you.

| Old Skool | So should I leave the classes? I wont qualify for the millenium, I am 33 and think that its reserved for younger students. My teacher is Kingma. Yes I would need a sign-off. I appreciate the offer though. I work full time and think if I just go with my current flight instuctor I might learn on a more frequent level with real situational training. When it comes to math I clam up and get really discouraged. I know with the right instruction more that one time a week I can have it aced.

Just punch the numbers into a calculator. I had Toni Mattei teach all my ground classes. I seriosuly suggest you use those to get signed off for written exams...even if you don't do the degree. But it's your call. Broader CCSN instruction 16 weeks x 2 hours = 32 hours. $150/32= $4.69/hour 32 hours of more personalized learning from your CFI would cost $1280. Do the classes and ask the CFI questions in the air to fill in the gaps. This makes much more sense for instrument (which is lots of math..sorry sean ).

| Old Skool | Get the Machado book and read up on it. Thats all you need. I doubt you need these things spoon fed to you. You will learn alot more from reading everything you can get your hands on in my opinion.
